Kai po che: Movie review

Movies, being made  from books  has  been a  trend  in Indian film making. But, the  gist that some  directors  add to it makes  them even more  cherishable  than the  original works.! Abhishek Kapoor  truly delivers  the essence  of the  book. !
Converting  a  350 page  novel, into a  70 mm frame  and  that too of  no more  than 2  hrs  and  20 mins..!  Its  one  hell of a  task. But, this  man did it, and  not  just presented a  replica of  the  work, but added a new  zeal and  grasp, with all the  minute  detailings. Sitting on the  seat, it actually made  me  feel ,as  if i were  in ahmedabad, sitting just behind those  three  fellas, in the  sabarmati sports  club.!
Once, in a  1000 years, we  get to witness  change  of the millennium. And  for  we  gujjus something new is  always awaited  eagerly and  anxiously. Every year, on the  day of "padva" (gujju new  year) we  get that internal zeal in our  hearts, that feeling of  newness, as  if from the  next sunrise , we  are  going  to have a  fresh start, a  new  beginning. We  make  new  year resolutions, we  take  the  blessings (of course, along with the  money) and  make  all those  crazy and  aspiring wishes  in our  hearts. Well, if the change  of  one  digit  can make  such difference, imagine  the zeal and  anxiety , that the  roll, of 1999 to 2000 can bring.! Youth is  what life  is.! You have sky high ambitions where  you feel that you have  to and  need  and  want to rise  above  the  ordinary, you have  unconditional friendship, where  nothing else  seems more  pacifying than the company of  those silly fellas around  you, sitting at a  local "laari" and  having  the  same  bread  pakodas everyday and  making crazy plans with no points. You have  that frustration, to overcome  your  failures and  prove  to people, and  most importantly to your  parents  who don't  yet take  you to be  worthy of  having being  born. This  is  all that comes out  "of " and  "between" 3  friends, Ishaan, Omi and  Gopal who open a  sports  academy amidst the  vast city in the try to fulfill their  ambitions. Not knowing that the  change of  the millennium is  about  to unfold the wrapper and  bring them to "LIFE"...!!
Once  again, directors  and  film makers  have  proved  that, its  they who make  actors  and  not  actors  who make  them. ! Again a  not  so star studded cast, but yet adds  full stars  to the  movie. Shushant singh Rajput lives  the character to its  utmost depth, and  truly the  last still of  the movie showing him in the  sunlight, leaves him stamped on your  hearts. The  way he  delivers  his  dialogues is  just flawless. And  also, one  of  the  very rare  actors who get the  pleasure  of  having their  first dialogue on the 70 mm screen as  "bhenchod" !!! :P!  Bhai shab k  baare  me  jitna  bole  utna  kam, just i would  say, " my vote  for  the  best debutant male " !
Amit sadh, gave  me  goosebumps  in the scene  where  he  is  repenting his  parents' death..!  I must say, amongst all three, the  most drastic  change  came  in his  personality and  character..! Loved  it...! Rajkumar  yadav, as  we  know  always  does  justice  to his  selection, and  so does  in this  flick too.!  The way he  freaks  out, and  starts  stammering a  bit  when situation is  all fucked  up is  brilliant. Also the  actress  , vidya  looked  quite adorable in her  role, and  didn't  try to be  pretentious. Abhishek kapoor's  minutest detailings  like  the writings  on the walls  behind, use  of  gujrati words  like  dafod, ghel sapoo and  my fav " maayy jaa" just added  to the  feel of  the movie. ! The  man, lived  the  gujrati culture  wholeheartedly. All the  songs  no doubt were  mind blowing, but felt that 1 or  2  more  would  have  done  no harm to it. Background  score  was  fantastic, and  made  the  picturisation just perfect.! Worked  as  the  cherry topping on the  chocolate  pastry.!
Just felt  that the climax  could  have  been shown  a little  more  detailed as  in the  novel, and maybe  a little  more  fierce,,!!
All in all, after dil chahta hain, this  is  the  second best movie  that showed  the audience  that, love can be  more  deeper  with your  fellas than a  girl next door. And  made  friendship an immortal relation once  again..>!!
My bunk from school, and  scoldings  from home  didn't go waste....! was  totally worth it, and  maybe  shall again bear  all the  gaalis  and  go 60km  to feel the  kite  sail again ..!
Kai po che...!!!  ( the  team really deserves  to roar  it aloud, as  they have  outdone  their  work )!!

My rating :  4.75/5

AkaashVani Movie Review

Watched "AkaashVaani" yesterday. Expectations were high as many people have said its different and good one.

Story: AkaashVani movie is a very intense love story about two young people who can't think beyond their mutual love. It's about the hardships in love.

I will say that in acting part there was not much problem. Kartik has done good work and Nusarat has done excellent.

Director has tried to show different shadows and different situations which is creating issues in regular life but still its too much weak as it has many unnecessary scenes as editing is poor...

BGM was satisfactory but some songs were unnecessarily kept.
In my opinion its the movie which wont make much difference if you watch or don't.

My review: 2.3/5
