Watch it.
I know its not a new release. But as I promised you, I will give you the review of whatever film I watch.
It was showcased (free of charge, offcourse) yesterday on Tata Sky, and I gained the opportunity to watch this missed movie of mine, which i was unable to watch anywhere. In a small town like Mandvi it is difficult to get DVD of such movie.
Sunil Arora (Ranveer Sauri) and Malti (Konkana Sen Sharma) are happily married couple since 10 years and still loves each other a lot. There is only a problem, the frequency of physical love is now been reduced to 40 days from 3 times a day. (law of diminishing marginal utility, you know.. as per explained by Vinay Pathak and Saurabh Shukla)
From an NRI friend of Sunil, he gets to know that in USA, there are some swinging club, where the wife swapping is done so easily. The friend makes him jealous by narrating how he and his wife enjoy the swingings.
Sunil finds the way to enjoy life and explains his plans to his wife, who immideately refuses. Somehow, he makes his wife agree by emotional black mailing, though. Meanwhile, he starts finding such pair who will agree swinging. He then, meets Vinod (Rajat Kapoor) and Kalpana (Koel Puri). And then..
The usp of the movie, is Ranveer Sauri's acting. Especially when he is nervous and anxious about the thing. The scenes where Ranveer meets some people for swinging proposals, are hilarious.
I cant stop my self mentioning here one of it:
A bearded man is interviewing Ranveer, if he is suited for the swapping or not...
Ranveer: "hi, i am Sapan Joshi".
bearded man: "thik hai, to aap ye paheli baar kar rahe hai"
Ranveer: "um.. haan, yes.. its my first time, its maalti's idea actually"
man: "achchha, aap fruit khana pasand karte hai?"
Ranveer: "um... haan"
man: "Kaun sa?.."
Ranveer, too honestly: "Angoor, Strawberry, Apple, Aam"
man, too seriously: "achha, aam khate hai..kaun sa?"
Ranveer, a lil bit frusteted by honestly, "langda....., totapuri...., aafoos"
man: "aafoos, achha. Chhil ke yaa Kaat ke?"
Ranveer: "Chhil ke..!!!???!!!"
man: "are yaar, sorry boss, apni nahi jamegi" and walks away...
Ranveer: "are thahero yaar... chhil ke bhi khaa lenge.. hello..."
one more:
Older man: "aapko kya lagta hai? main joraavar hun...? achha aap ek kaam kijiye, aap sochiye main joraavar hu ke nahi hu.... tab tak main joraavar sinh ko bulaake laata hu...."
how are these???? for more like this, one should surely watch it.
Anurag Kashyap's dialogues are fantastic. Once again a fear, came to my mind, that if we dont start acclaiming his genious works, he can loose his creativity. Rajat Kapoor has produced it and directed it, the direction and his acting is very well. Though, the end is good but is a lil bit abrupt and unexpected.
