Shabri: Movie Review

Directed by Lalit Marathe starring Isha Kopikkar, Pradeep Rawat and Raj Arjun

An open letter to producer Ram Gopal Verma

Dear RGV,

Where are you these days? Well, after your movie Department, I wanted you to take rest or vacation for a short period, and wanted you to first make a comedy or romantic movie for your relaxation and for viewers’ offcourse. :P

Anyways, you are coming back with Attacks of 26/11 and the first 7 mins of the film have again raised our hope in you. Meanwhile, I watched Shabri from your production house – factory, for which we had waited for some years, but it came in 2011 without much hype and went back without hype.

The movie, for sure, wasn’t that much great, but surely decent one compared to your last some movies. Performances by Isha Kopikkar, Pradeep Rawat, Zakir Hussain and Raj Arjun were fantastic. Especially, one must mention about Isha Kopikkar, the girl needed much more chances that she got, but anyways did  a fab job as Shabri.

The film, based on the real incident, is about a poor girl, whose younger brother gets killed in police torture and hence she becomes a lady don preceding some incidents. The story is typical, execution as needed, but the film lakes grippy dialogues and looses it’s pace most of the places.

Overall, for those who watch every movies, this one is not to miss, for those who just watch selected films, if you have missed this one, never mind.

And you sir, kindly make such more movies, and stop making crappy Phooonks and Departments.

Regards,

Delhi Heights: Movie Review

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0989633

Directed by R. Anand Kumar, Starring Jimmy Shergil, Neha Dhupia, Rohit Roy, Simone Singh

Dear Jimmy,

This one was surely a crappy movie, and I just watched as it had you in the lead role. Since a long time, you have been doing good works, choosing right scripts and performing very well. There’s nothing wrong in being wrong some times, so never mind. But watching this was a quite bad experience and ye baat tumpe udhaar rahi.

Apart from rabbi’s song ‘tere bin’, there was nothing good in the movie. Even the song was picturised so unintentionally funnily. Waste of such a nice track. One expects something different from a low budget multiplex movie, but this one had quite regular, done to death, story dealt with nothing new kinda direction.

You, Neha Dhupiya and Simone Singh did good work. Om Puri and Vivek Shauque were okay. Rohit Roy was misfit for the role. The boys of delhi heights were boring, the track was forcefully added.

Those who have skipped the movie, good work. Those who have missed the movie, it’s better not to visit it.

0.25 cheers out of 5 from me.

Waiting for Saheb, Biwi aur Gangster 2.

Regards,
