My Ratings of 7 different movies

As have watched many a movies while, and getting not much time to write reviews(letters)..

for this time, just posting the ratings of some movies i recently watched, over here:

1. Singham - 1/5
Despite the fact that it's going super hit, i didn't like it at all. Apart from Ajay Devgan & Prakash Raje's performance, i found every other thing just too badly executed.

2. Cloudy with the chance of meatballs (animation) - 3/5
What if someday Hot Dogs/Meat balls rain from clouds? Our nerdy hero invents a machine to do so. Coz of ignorance and arrogance, after some success, it becomes a night mare.
Caution: Dont watch it after over eating.. you may throw.. :P :P

3. The curious case of Benjamin Button - 3.75/5
Brad Pit's award winning film has super concept, performances and direction. Though a bit lengthy approach gets it a bit less points from me.

4. Ragini MMS - 2.5/5
Based on true events, Ekta Kapoor's Ragini MMS may scare you. Though, a bit improvement could have made it super.
P.S. The girl playing Ragini is v. sexy.

5. Iron Man 2 - 3.5/5
A mast sequel to Iron Man is a must watch for super hero lovers. Cool Time Pass it is.

6. Happy Days (Telugu)- 3.75/5
Eight Friends enters the course of Bachelors of Engineering. The story is of their friendship, their love, their college life ends when they graduate from the college.
If you dont mind reading subtitles while watching the movie, this movie is for you.
The climax song - Happy Days makes one cry who have felt those happy college days.

7. Surrogates - 2.75/5
Bruce Willis starrer Surrogates is the futurastic sci-fi based on a comic, imagining that mostly everybody on earth has started using their surrogate robots sitting ideally on mechanical chair.
If you are diehard fans of sci-fi movies, then this is for u.

Thanks,

Singham - Movie Review

Wonder wat would have happened if any of d lead actors had acted even a bit weaker..

Can say..after a long time..saw a battle of equally powerful characters n actors

n better dis movie nt compared wid Dabangg Dis movie at least has some kind of story(though nt great one..bt thing dat makes dis one better dan Dabangg is..it REALLY has some story ).

Sallu was superb in Dabangg..bt honestly, he couldnt have given performance like Ajay in dis movie..

In some scenes like 'Maajhi Satkel' n 'Chautha sher'..i just couldnt think of any oder actor who could replace Ajay

n Prakash Raj is great as expected..even better dan Wanted [minus his last movie Bbudaah..where he was in guest appearance..so wont count him in dat movie ]

Kaajal was good too..bt her character worked like Brake..making d movie lose its speed

Can see dis movie for infinite times just to watch Ajay n Prakash Raj scenes

First half was weak n dose funny scenes could hardly make me laugh..bt den..Shikaari comes n Singham roars

lol one scene was unintentionally funny..where after knocking d bad guys down..Ajay looks at Kaajal n Kaajal goes near to him..just to hold Ajay's gun while Ajay is beating d guys..as if Kaajal is umpire n Ajay is a bowler in a cricket match

Overall an average movie turns out to be a very good one bcz of outstanding performances.

Last year, Ajay gave us Sultaan Mirza..n dis year, Bajiraao Singham

Movie: 3.5/5

hey, nice review Nilay.. nice to see you back with bang in the blog.. :)

well, i just rated it 1/5, as i didnt like the film..

like u mentioned that umpire wala scene, it inspired me to write one thing too... :P

in the film, the widow of the police officer always takes her said to be 5 year old son to literally everywhere in the scene, wherever she herself is in the frame, he is with her..
socho kya kaheti hogi wo use...

to prastut hain, kuch deleted scenes from Singham..

the-said-to-be-5-year-old-son: mummy, mummy, mujhe garden me gumaane le jaao na..
mummy: are beta, baagiche me kya ghumna hai, chal tujhe police station le ke jaati hun... :P

after some days...

the-said-to-be-5-year-old-son: mummy, mummy, mujhe beach me gumaane le jaao na..
mummy: are beta, beach pe kya mazaa aayega...chal main ek politician se milne jaa rahi hu, tujhe waha ghuma laati hun... :P

after such some incidents..
once finally..
the-said-to-be-5-year-old-son cryingly: mummy, mujhe waha har jaga pe maza nahi aata... haalanki mujhe 5 saal ka bataaya gaya hai.. main hu to bada.. mujhe bhi party vagara me jaana hai...
Mummy: Singham bhai.. Wo Police Farewell Party chal rahi hai..
Singham: Achha... chalo let's go.. Mujhe waise bhi police walo ko lecture dena hai... waha sare honge.. bachche ko saath me laa rahi ho na..
Mummy: Haan... ye usi ka idea tha..

:P :D :P

Haunted - Review

Surely funniest movie of the year after pkp watta script

This is something new when bollywood ghosts were becoming monotonous..here we have two ghosts..one good one..d oder one bad one..good has to be saved from bad one..n fr dat..d lead actor has to feel d pain of good one..good one na

well..if logic is applied..we come to knw dat d lead actor falls in love wid d girl whose age must have been same as age of d moder of his grandmother. noo..actually just like sum comedy movies..d makers should have warned in dis one too before release of d movie: 'dis is brainless horror'.. yes of course..if u use ur brain while watching dis movie..u wont be able to value dis epic movie at all..

ok lets take some examples..d ghost of Prof. Aiyar is as hawaskhor as he used to be wen he was alive..now even ghosts have a feeling of hawas..

he tells Meera: "main jo jeete-jee jo nahin kar paya..woh ab karunga"

and rapes Meera again n again..now i doubt if a ghost can rape a human being..n even if he can..it shouldnt make any difference for Meera..he is just a ghost.. bt she kills herself..d evil ghost doesnt stop her from doing so mayb bcz he thinks it will be easy to rape her wen she is ghost..smart ghost, huh n den.. evil one keeps on doing his job..ghost raping ghost..n dis goes on for 80 years..showing how loyal dat evil ghost is.

enters our hero..who gets a projector..watches a video which was captured around d time of 1930..i doubt if something like video recorders existed in 1930..n even if it did..den why d actress bahaves like a child wen d actor takes a pic of her from his mobile n shows her..calling it a 'magic' too tough to understand.

my fav scene from d movie? dat scene wen d evil ghost enters d body of miss magrate or whoever her name was..n den tries to rape Meera..something new fr bollywood  n wait..even better thing is yet to happen..dat jungle scene..wen dat miss magrate is flying in d air like superman or krissh..as if she is riding invisible bicycle..wow..watta scene

d climax is equally zabardast..wen either d evil ghost..or d lead characters r shown flying here to there..

n our magician ghost creates walls around d actress n locks all d ways to go out frm der..n we feel d ghost is inside..intending to rape d actress again..bt d ghost who behaved smartly till now turns out to be lallu..he is nt der..in fact, he is outside dat little room..now wat was need to lock d actress wen he himself wasnt inside

overall..it's a damn funny movie..n u will be surprised to see dat makers of Raaz n 1920 can also make such a funny movie you may also fall in love wid Shaapit after watching this one..in simple words, A Must Watch!!

Movie: 1/5

Chillar Party - Review

Awesome movie dis is..a must watch..especially for brilliant performances by those kids. There are plenty of ROFL type scenes. No doubt..Jhangiya was best of all. Songs r awesome too..especially Behla Do..superbly picturised one..Aa Rela Hain Apun n Ziddi Piddi are also nice.

and emotional scenes are strong enough to make one's eyes wet.

Overall..loved d movie.

Movie: 4/5

P.S.: Those who think dey are too grown up to laugh or cry in such movies..pls Avoid. Though I personally felt dis one is for all :)

Review: Harry potter and deathly hollows part-II

By 70mm Idiot FARHAN (Brij)
.

Story: The final chapter begins as Harry, Ron, and Hermione continue their quest of finding and destroying the Dark Lord's three remaining Horcruxes, the magical items responsible for his immortality. But as the mystical Deathly Hallows are uncovered, and Voldemort finds out about their mission, the biggest battle begins and life as they know it will never be the same again.

.

It all started in movie world from July 2001.When it came it made his whole new world among the movies and made his place in people’s mind. Then craze was increased as parts came one by one and it all ended (as said by rolling but one won’t believe after watching its said last part) after 10 years on this July 2011.

.

I was very excited and also sad as it was the end of the Harry potter Ira by its last part deathly hollows-II. Heard too much about last part and expected also a lot as it was last part and the end of Voldemort but movie fails from my expectation as its ended easily without much efforts from harry.

.

In acting part I loved everyone’s acting and in direction also movie is well managed as it has good action scenes which we expect in last part. But director fails in giving the importance to its main characters which people loved like Hermione & Ron in its last part.

.

Story linking is done excellent as it reminds us most of the moments of all the parts and connected with harry potter but its ended very pathetically and in very typical kinda manner.

.

My rating – 3.75/5

(Must watch for Potter series lovers as it is (said)last part of the series)

.

In end I can say that if anyone ask me which movie series you liked most then without thinking and doubt I will say its Harry Potter series. Love u harry potter and will miss you.(Now I am gonna watch all parts together again)

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara : Movie Review

An open letter to Farhan Akhtar,

Dear Farhan,

You simply rock. As director you have created all brilliant films, your debut film Dil Chahta Hai is a cult film, which inspired all directors of India to make fresh looking light hearted urban films. Then came Lakshya, which was not commercially that successful, but was nevertheless a good film. Don, from which I expected nothing, hated the idea as the original starring Big B is one of my most fav Big B film, was splendid and established you as master. As producer, you have attempted fantastic films too. And now as an actor, you are getting better and better day by day. You rocked in Rock On, you were fantastic in LBC and KCK and in ZNMD too you have successfully stolen the show from my favorites Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol who have established themselves as good actors.

Your role in the film is quite meatier and helps you stealing the show. Hrithik (whom you originally wanted to cast in DCH) is again fantastic in serious-all-business-minded-guy and changed-in-love-living-life-guy both. Abhay Deol is as always dependable, his tricks in the films are hilarious. Chemistry between you three is awesome. It feels like three real friends are on road trip.

I hope you make sequel to this as producer, keeping Zoya on director’s seat again, as I think, she was brilliant as director. She might have lived her life with lots of male friends as it not for a single moment seems like a film directed by lady director (which was the only minus point of LBC from my point of view). Hoping to see more from her.

Dialogues are fantastic and makes one laugh, smile and think for sure. Story, Screenplay and Script are marvelous. Music is in rhythm with film’s flow.

All positive – No. Something minor which I found not-so-positive was Katrina’s suitability for Laila’s role and SEL’s music. Katrina has done decent work compared to her past films, but fails to convince what her character needs to convince (and though I don’t like Kariena that much, but I feel she suited for this role very much) though Hrithik being her counter part balances very well, and Hrithik and Katrina looks good together. SEL’s music is not as great as their former films, though manages to please.

Fav Moments in the film:
Too many. Though listing some of them.

1. Kabeer’s all tricks
2. Imran’s flirt with Laila and her friend
3. Imran’s each funny comment
4. Arjun - Imran's fights
5. Bagwati
6. Each Poetry recited by Imran
7. The moments which inspires those Poetries
8. In the Air Scenes
9. Imran & Salman’s meeting
10. Imran & Arjun’s meeting their after
11. Kabeer’s Flashback
12. Arjun crying after Underwater ‘Meditation’

All and over, it’s not DCH, it’s not Rock On. Though, it has shades of both the films, but it’s quite different story to tell and as it has many pleasing moments, one must watch it.

Simply, 4.05 cheers for the film.

.

Watched it on the first day last show…waiting for this movie from the day when I watched its first look…

.

After long time watched any movie with their own and natural acting. Thanx to zoya and farhan for that. Movie was as expected very light hearted and full of entertainment. It has story, dialogues, Perfect Actors and Acting, Music, Direction. In short everything.

.

In acting starting with Abhay deol. He was shown as he really is. With lots of risky ideas and Faadu tricks. After watching his movies we can imagine in real he would be like that only. Mast and perfact acting.

Fav scenes of Abhay: Bathroom shouting Idea scene, Natasha comes to spain, His trick on Arjun and then their laugh on him.

.

Farhan akhtar has done all different roles in his movies. In this he has done excellent work as shaayar and makes u laugh at all the time. His shaayari’s were mind blasting and his chosen sport challenge was also bestest. Poems speaken by him was also full of feelings.

Fav scenes of me(Farhan:P): Bagvati scenes, His Flirty scenes with Laila & her friend, Scenes with Salman and avoiding scenes also.

.

Hritik roshan was also somewhat in his real character. He was looking dude and smart in each and every frame. His acting was also awesome.

His Fav scenes: Arjun cries after diving, Arjun feels the love, Arjun- Imran fights .

.

Katerina kaif has done good work then her last films. She was looking gorgeous as always. I can say her and hritik’s pair was looking awesome then any other. But still she could be done much well. Kalki haven’t much role in the movie.

.

In last the movie is totally enjoyable and fresh movie. Some had found the film slow but it's not. Movie moves at 24 frames per second only(:D:P). Movie will make you laugh and feel good when you leave theatre.

.

.

My rating - 4/5

(Must watch movie to feel friendship, to feel love, to feel bachelor life , to laugh.)

Turning 30 - Movie Review

An open letter to Gul Panag,

Dear Gul...

First of all, I ll complement that you are so sweet and very attractive woman. You have gotta lots of acting talent but u haven’t got ur due in bollywood. This was your film and only yours film – so, congrats.

Well, the film is decent to good and have dealt with the metro living working single woman entering in her thirties, though it had some funny moments and urban feel to it, but rona dhona kuch zyada hi ho gaya, which makes it one time watch only, and that for limited audience.

Music was okay, though matched with film’s pace. Story was good, screenplay was good too, but the film dragged at places.

All other performers were good too, but it was only you who steal the show.

Wouldn’t mind watching director Alankrita (nice name, by the way) Shrivastava’s future films. And convey my best luck to Prakash Jha (producer of this film) for Arakshan.

Overall, 2.35 cheers for the film.

Murder 2: Double Movie Review

By the 70mm Farhan – Brijesh Raychanda

When you are going to watch sequel of murder you will expect steamy and hot scenes and revenge are extra marital affair story nothing else. But Mohit suri fails you when you go to watch this movie as he has many more things to show you and make the movie much more interesting.

Story: Arjun Bhagwat (Emraan Hashmi) leaves his job as a police officer and changes track to assume odd roles for favouring the operations of the criminals in Goa. An uncertain atheist, Arjun lacks commitment towards his ‘aadat’ Priya (Jacqueline Fernandez) for reasons that have increased the duration of the movie unnecessarily by a few good minutes. A particular assignment from a pimp involves Arjun directly and indirectly with a psychopathic serial killer Dheeraj Pandey (Prashant Narayan) and an innocent college-going Reshma (Sulagna Panigrahi) respectively. Arjun blames himself for hatching the plan to contrive Reshma as the carrot to reach the killer and the remorseful him leaves no stones unturned to punish the murderer.

The movie is much dark and can say violent in many scenes but it was necessary for story even from my point of view there should be more violent scenes to show the level of psycho and make his impact on audience.

Surprise package for me was Prashant Narayan. He acted fabulously. He carried whole movie on his burden and make it much interesting. Still he needed some more length in his role to grab best villain role of this year. He was looking horrible when he was singing “Bheege honth”. In first part “Bheege honth” song was as erotic and seducing while in this it was used for thrilling.

Emraan hashmi has done many similar roles like this. He was not that impressive. His role was also not that good as he catches villain easily and even killes also easily. Jacqueline Fernandez was also ok as she don’t have to do much except some steamy scenes. Jacqueline is nowhere nearer to mallika in steamy scenes.

Story was also different as killer was revealed in starting only. Because of that we thought movie will loose its grip, But it didn’t loose its grip. All credits goes to Director Mohit suri. Music was not that appealing like Murder.

My rating  -  3.15/5
(One time watch for thrilling performance by Prashant Narayan)

By:  70mm FARHAN (bRij)

An open letter to Emraan Haasmi from the 70mm Rancho,

Dear Serial Killer (or kisser however you like),

You have murdered before, and hence this is your another experience murdering. And what best you can expect, that this one is better than the previous one. Yeah, Murder 2 is quite better than it’s prequel, Murder. Though, not sexually, but storically and performance wise, this one is quite better.

I am quite lot impressed by your cousin Mohit Suri – director of M2. He has done fabulous job with his previous consignments like Zeher, Kalyug, Wo Lamhe, Awarapan and Raaz2. He is a fantastic story teller and never loses grip from the film. This letter could be addressed to him, but then I dropped it for his later superior works. In this movie, like the previous part of the murder franchise, he could have used more skin show and more desperate sex scenes (and have collected more amount of boxoffice money for producers) but he avoided it coz he wanted the relation between priya and arjun to be more deeper than only sex oriented attraction like M1. Kudos! He concentrated on the crime part of the story made it quite a thrilling which it was meant to be. Made the character Dheeraj Pandey so scary and fantastic, that it chilled our nerves.

And here comes one of other person from whom I m quite impressed since lot – Prashant Narayan. From Chhal or Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part 2 days, I always expect him to have a big break and be appreciated and known by public, but he is not getting his due since then. He bags a good role and implies full justice to the role in M2. Though, this letter is not meant to be for him, as his best is yet to come.

This letter is meant to you, not coz this film is best of yours, no it is definitely not. But this film let me think one thing, that why Emran Hasmi doing same and same roles of same and same characters with same and same performances and expression.  When you are going to watch an emran hashmi film, expect him to smooch heroines, get them laid sensationally, be always almost in confidence but in constant pain of something, constantly luring for don’t know what and recently not believing in Gods. (Jawani Deewani was a bit exception) Yeah, those kinda roles suit you the best, but one should try something different too for audience’s pleasure. Hoping for the same.

Your uncle’s camp has acted smartly with Raaz & Murder franchises. They haven’t made sequels and make their scopes limited. Instead now people know a suspense horror kinda film from bhatt camp can be of Raaz franchise and a crime thriller from Bhatt camp can be Murder franchise, this can be a smart strategy business wise, though many of sequel lovers would like them to be proper sequels. Anyways, a good film is always welcome. And for me, M2 and R2 both were quite better than their first parts. Only thing that M2 lacks is strong female character that was there in M1. Jackquilene had nothing to do in the film apart from some audience pleasing scenes.

3.25 cheers for the film.

A film fan – the 70mm Rancho – Hardik Raychanda

P.S.Watch it for Dheeraj Pandey.

P.S.S. It is not at all a who-done-it kinda suspense film, it’s a thriller.

Stanley Ka Dabba - Movie Review

An Open Letter to Amole Gupte,

Hey Amole,

From your films and works, it seems you love kids and working with kids, I am amazed by your writing skills for children films, congo.

Yesterday, went through the experience watching your directorial debut – Stanley Ka Dabba. And wow, whatta experience it was. Though, one cant restrain himself from comparing it to your previous work as creative director – Taare Zameen Par. Many expressions, many moments are as same to TZP, and why not both have same genre and  hence it is meant to be. Nevertheless, the movie conveys what it wants to and that too quite strongly, so kudos.

You as director are surely a treat to watch but more fascinating is your work as actor, you rock as Babu Verma. Completely convincing, expressive and comfortable. Loved it. Your son, Partho, is also too comfortable, expressive and convincing, most effectively, sweet too. Though in sweetness factor, Divya Dutta beats you two, convey my congo to her. J Don’t know what was Raj Jutsi’s role in the film. Anyways, he is a good actor and it’s always good to watch him. Rest of the students and faculties were fine too.

Music is in rhythm to the film. Though not that much impressive.

The film would be a treat for film lovers, but regular audience would find it to be a bit less entertaining (read boring here) and a bit low paced. May be that’s why you had some creative differences with Aamir Khan, anyway it happens. Even Aamir Khan’s production house says it - (sh)it happens!!

Over all, 3 cheers for the film.

Regards,
A film fan – the 70mm rancho – Hardik Raychanda

Teen Thay Bhai - Movie Review

An open letter to Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra (the producer of the film),

Dear Sir,

How Are You? Hope everything’s fine.

Well, I have been your fan since Aks released, it was a terrific movie and I loved it like anything. Then came Rang De Basanti, and what to say, it’s a cult classic movie and my all time favorite one. Then you delivered Delhi 6, and though it was not like your previous ones, I found it to be totally sweet lovable film. I loved the way you shown chandni chowk and specially loved Rishi Kapoor’s character. And then, I don’t know what came to your mind and you thought of producing a film and handle the direction to a new person, though I can understand that the concept was fantastic and story could be interesting and one can opt producing such movies and allotting first class performers like Shreyas Talpade, Deepak Dobriyal and Om Puri as central characters, you did great job as producer but the movie fails miserably and this time it’s not audience’ fault, but director messes it up.

Your film doesn’t have ‘s’ of screen play in it moreover unwitty situations makes the can-be-witty film worse. Apart from one or two exceptions, dialogues are too poor, the director Mrigdeep Singh is just succeeded keeping the characters sweet and I believe that’s too due to fine performers. Among actors, Deepak Dobrial clearly steals the show by under performing quite sweetly. Shreyas is fantastic as always and Om Puri justifies his choice. Govinda’s niece Ragini, with her bubbly performance, charms us in a special role and Yuvraj’s father Yograj Sing also manages to do well.

Overall, the film could be a master piece, if screenplay and dialogues could be better, but it even fails to become a decent one time watch. So, if one is not a hardcore film fan, can avoid watching this flick.
Though, sir, Umeed pe duniya kaayam hai... So, kindly don’t avoid producing films with other directors. And best of luck for your next directorial venture with Pratiek Babbar.

1.85 cheers for the film.

Regards,
A film fan – the 70mm idiot Rancho – Hardik Raychanda

P.S. My fav moment of the film is when Happy Sing (Deepak Dobrial) sweetly remembers his childhood girlfriend saying, “hirni thi wo, hirni”, Fancy Sing (Shreyas Talpade) slams: “Abe hirni nahi thi, HORNY thi HORNY” .... :P :D :P :D :P :D

Double Dhamaal : Double Review

Double Review: Double Dhamaal

Today watched another sequel from bollywood. Dhamaal was somewhat funny and it created its own space in many filmy lovers in the form of its characters and their foolish and comic acts.
.
As comic movies of bollywood doesn’t have much good story so can’t expect any good story from this movie also but we can expect good humorous and witty dialogus. Double Dhamaal movie have some funny dialogues but not that much and I haven’t expected also. But I was disappointed to see not that good acting from its actors.
..
First part of movie was too boring and full of over acting from every actor. But in second part we can see good acting and good use of actors that’s why it became enjoyable. Songs are not that good except timepass song “Jalebi Bai”.
.
In acting part, we can say that riteish has taken the whole movie’s burden and has done very well. In second session he left impression by being ”Tukya”. Same I loved the acting of everyone in second session. Arshad as “Ghantasingh” and Ashish was looking fabulous as “Barbara Gori”.
In direction part I will like to see much from Indra Kumar. He has done much good work in past (EG. Beta, Dil, Raja, Mann). So please make movies like that also.

My rating: 2.4/5
(One watch in dvd for ritiesh’s acting will be enough. People who like dhamaal will like this one also)

By: the 70mm FARHAN (Brij)

An open letter to Indra Kumar from the 70mm idiot – Rancho – Hardik Raychanda

Dear Indra Kumar,

I have appreciated your past works very much. Have loved Dil, Raja, Beta, Ishq and Mann. Mann is infact my one of favorite movies. Even I liked Dhamaal, though found it to be over rated, but liked it somewhat. But Double Dhamaal is your dumbest movie. Though it is going super hit and you may be earning a lot from it, it’s not half a Dhamaal to it’s prequel.

The first half of the film is too bad. Everybody doing over acting, the four jokers of the movie doesn’t get any personal scope. Four of them act together, speak dialogues together and do the repetitive over acting and mimicries etc. Though, in second half, the movie raises a bit due to Ritesh’ fine performance as Tukya Kale and Gujju bhai. But in the end, one gets the same feeling again as the first half. Not a good sign.

A brand wasted.

And if you want not to waste your hard earned money, skip this for sure.

Simply just 1.25 cheers for the movie.

A film fan – the 70mm idiot Rancho – Hardik Raychanda

P.S. Kindly make a real good film to shut our mouths, I hope.

Delhi Belly Review

Delhi Belly ReviewDelhi Belly .. As the name suggests, the movie explores the adventures of the protagonists in a setup which involves delhi as the location and belly[read upset belly] as the situation. the film is outright hillarious. the USP of the movie according to me is the fast paced events coupled with amazing comic timings of every actor. One thing which i was quite apprehensive about before watching the movie was regarding the fact that wheter or not the stupendous music by ram sampath will fit into the movie or will it break the rythm and fast-pacedness. but as i told you, breaking away from regular hindi movie melodrama, this movie makes use of all the tracks on record at perfect times which does justice to the storyline. Coming to the storyline, it could well be rated as a not-so-innovative storyline with the age old bollywood masala about diamonds and stuff. but despite dealing with a storyline as vague as this, the film steals away moments of glory. accourding to me, this movie is certainly going to be a pathbreaking benchmark in bollywood which will see many such slick and fast paced comedies to be made. kudos to the censor board of india to show a sense of maturity and pass the movie without any cuts since it would have taken the soul away off the movie. all three male protagonists, Imran Khan[as the groom to be.. who eventually falls for someone else], Vir Das[The lost-in-love guy/cartoonist] & Kunaal Roy Kapoor[a foodie who gives in to some streetwise tandoori chicken which gives him the worst delhi belly ever] have perfect comic timings,Vir das being the pick of them all. the movie had many high points. some of them are :

The song SAIGAL BLUES : perfectly picturised and actually demonstrates how all three guys are.
Vijay Raaj receives S#%t : Ha Ha Ha.. This one was epic
Kunal Finishes off all the orange juice in house
The Song JAA CHUDAIL : Amazing...
Bank robbery : Vir Das drinking water with the burqa on.. :P

Dialogues were fantabulous . I watched the HINGLISH version. some of the dialogues were killer. e.g vir to kunal : "Fu#%er is that your G#$%nd or a solar eclipse"..:P

This is definitely not a movie to watch with family, but it s an amazing one to watch with friends.

My Ratings : 4/5 [definitely the pick of the movies for me this year]

Open Letter to Aamir Khan

Dear Disco-Fighter,

I Hate you [like I love you]...

Well, your production house is the gem production house since it’s established, and thanks for that. Watched your Delhi Belly yesterday, and found it to be a laughter riot. Though, it’s not a cult film, as crowned by many critics and viewers, but yeah, it would be surely a trend setter. Using main stream actors in an adult comedy with use of so much ‘gaali galoch’ and that too by a mainstream banner is surely a gr8 risk, and you took the chance, now many other production houses are going to follow this trend for sure. Kudos!!

But, only that wouldn’t have worked. Though, it works big time, but what makes Delhi Belly an enjoyable fun ride is it’s funny situations, fine performances and tight story. So, Abhinay Deo, take my bow. The director blends the situation and BGM quite well, and gets quite good backing from Actors too. Imran Khan has done decent job, Veer Das is hilarious but it’s Kunal Roy Kapoor who excels and steals the show. Quite farting performance, I must say. Your item dance as Disco Fighter is hilarious.. You rock big time.. :) Shehnaz looks pretty. Vijay Raaz & Pravin Ganatra are dependable as always. Poorna Jagannathan looks quite okay but suits the character.

Over all, 4.10 cheers for the movie.

seven years in tibet: movie review

hello hunk..

nice to see u in such films..

this letter was bound to be written to chinese communist 'motherf***ing' party, but after reading trivia that u felt embarrassed that your work was not at par, i felt i should write it to you only. well, this one is a master piece, and i felt your acting was far far far superior then most of your other movies. though, you felt that your work was not at par that shows how humble you are.

anyways, c0ming back to the film, it brings tears somewhere in corner of eyes in some scenes, it's so heart warming that one feels to be there in tibet. kudos to director Jean-Jacques Annaud.

i had no idea regarding the movie's what about, and i thought by the name that it must be a traveller's kinda movie, and after watching the movie, i felt like watching a gr8 movie. it was there in my lappy, and was omitting watching it since many months. regret it now.

your movie is a true story about a rude-arrogant Austrian mountain climber - Heinrich Harrer (brad pitt) who by circumstances enters world's highest town - Lhasa where Dalai Lama 14th is just 7-8 years old. Lil Dalai Lama befriends with you, and u and he learns many a things from each other, and that's the time when Chinese Communist Party kills thousands of innocent unarmed tibetian budhdhist monks and encroaches free Tibet. The execution, the cinematography, the direction, the performances all are gr8. surprised to watch our own Danny Dengzoppa in the movie. :)

i heard you, the director and other actor David Thewlis (whom i loved in movie 'the boy in stripped paijamas' and 'Harry Potter' series) are banned from entering China. Fuc# them, who cares..

4.35 cheers for the film.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: Movie Review

Open letter to Jim Carrey:

Dear Jim Carrey..

I am one of your big big big fan.
you have made us laugh in your films, one gets freshed up for life after watching your films, and i believe u r god of comedy films.
but i just watched a film of yours - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (which was 2nd film after Number 23 which is not comedy) in which you have played the role of serious lover such a way, that we feel u were wasted by the industry that casted u just in comedy films.
this film is one of the best films of hollywood with super different concept, thanks to writer Charlie Kaufman whose "being john malcovich" i also loved, and director Michael Gondry. Kindly send my regards to them.
And say hii to Kate Winslet, whom a generation of India loves since they watched her in Titanic. She acts fantastic in each of her movies.
I was wondered to think both of you as pair, when i first heard of this film, and loved your chemistry watching the film.
some of the scenes in the film are quite emotional and lovely, that takes the movie to it's height. congo.
was surprised and loved listening to "mera mann tera pyasa" and "vaada na tod" in background score in one scene.
must watch movie for geniune cinema lovers.

4.25 cheers for the movie..

Love You..
